Earlier this month at EVO, Tekken 7 was shown to be getting whole lot of new, exciting content in the future. With new character, mechanics, and balance changes, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming season pass. Fans now have a release date for these new updates, and it is slated to come out in early September.
When the season pass was shown off at EVO, we got to see the awesome new additions to the game. The most important announcements were the additions of Anna, Lei, and even Negan from The Walking Dead. What is even more exciting, however, is that there will be three more characters in the season pass that have not even been announced yet. While we have no official confirmation on who the characters will be, we can imagine that they might potentially be legacy characters.
In addition to these new characters, brand new features will be added with the upcoming update. One of the most prominent features will be the addition of Wall Bound, a mechanic where you can bounce off of a wall if you are hit or juggled into it. This feature has piqued the interest of many Tekken fans, for it opens up a whole new world of possibilities and mind games.
Also added is the Easy Combo/Assist Mode. In this mode, combos will be, as you might have guessed it, easier to execute. While veterans of the game and the series will not pay much mind to this mode, this addition is something of a gem for newcomers to the game. It will allow players who are unfamiliar with the title to jump right into a match and perform some complicated combos in order to get players into the groove of Tekken 7 at a much more streamlined, user-friendly experience.
Speaking of veterans, there will be changes to ranked play in Tekken 7. These changes have been widely asked for by the community, and they include a better rank progression tracker and a revamped ranked system. As of now, it is now possible to see how close you are to either a rank promotion or demotion. Additionally, points will now be rewarded in a much more competitive manner, and matchmaking has been fine tuned to find opponents that are much closer in rank to the player. Also, high ranking players will now have a better time finding matches in their skill bracket. Other changes, such as updated moves, re-balanced moves, and new rage drives, will be added to the game.
The Tekken 7 season pass 2 will be available on September 6 for an estimated $26.99. Although the price is hefty, most of this cost comes from the characters that come with the season pass, but those will have an additional option for individual purchase at $4.99 each.
