Today’s Indie World Showcase introduced upcoming indie titles for the Nintendo Switch, where most of these titles will be out for release next year. This month’s showcase included new titles, additional installments to preexisting franchises, and previously released titles that will make their Nintendo Switch debut soon. Sea of Stars is the prequel to the critically acclaimed indie game The Messenger, and it takes place in the same universe. Players will join the moongirl Valere and the sunboy Zale, Children of the Solstice who can perform Eclipse Magic, as they try to defeat The Fleshmancer and his alchemic creatures. The game features turn-based combat with no random encounters and provides an interesting story throughout the game. Sea of Stars plans to release Holiday 2022.
Aliisha – The Oblivion of the Twin Goddesses follows twin sisters Lisha and Aisha on their adventure as they explore an abandoned temple once served by twin priests. The game features dual yet different gameplay for each sister that reflects their personalities. Lisha’s gameplay is more physical and designed with the Joy Con’s motion control in mind. In contrast, Aisha’s gameplay is more remote as you control Lisha’s AI robot to find clues within the temple. Aliisha – The Oblivion of the Twin Goddesses plans to release in Spring 2022.
Endling – Extinction is Forever is a 3D side-scrolling game where you play as a mother fox trying to survive with her three cubs in a lonely and terrible world destructed by humans. As you travel throughout the ravaged world, your goal is to protect your cubs as you find a better place to raise them beyond human interaction. You can teach your cubs new skills to help their survival and hunt other animals to feed them. Endling – Extinction is Forever plans to release in Spring 2022.
Figment 2: Creed Valley is a standalone sequel to its critically acclaimed predecessor Figment. Players will join Dusty and Piper as they journey to Creed Valley to restore The Mind’s broken moral compass. The game features new enemies, along with the ability to explore and switch between the Open-minded and Close-minded sides within The Mind. Figment 2: Creed Valley plans to release February 2022 and has a free demo out now.
OlliOlli World is the third and newest installment in the OlliOlli franchise, where you are skating your way through Radlandia to meet the skate gods in Gnarvana. During your journey to Gnarvana, you can accept missions and challenges, along with meeting new friends. You can also customize your skater with unique accessories and outfits to make them stand out as they ride. OlliOlli World plans to release on Feb. 8, 2022.
Afterlove EP follows young musician Rama around Jakarta as he tries to move on and learn to love again after the passing of his girlfriend Cinta. The game features a touching and emotional narrative story from the creators of Coffee Talk and What Comes After that incorporates dating sim and rhythm game elements. It also features an original soundtrack from the Indonesian band L’alphalpha. Afterlove EP plans to release Summer 2022.
Loco Motive is a mystery murder game aboard the Reuss Express, where you need to figure out who is behind the death of Lady Unterwald. You can play as three different characters throughout the game: Lady Unterwald’s lawyer Arthur Ackerman, rookie detective Herman Merman, and undercover spy Diana Osterhagen. The game features full voice acting and several puzzles to solve. Loco Motive plans to release Summer 2022.
River City Girls 2 is the sequel to the well-received combat RPG River City Girls and continues where the story left off in the first game. Players will be able to play again as Misako and Kyoko, along with the characters Kunio, Riki, Marian, and Provie. There is also more to explore in this sequel, with new areas and combat skills to unlock, along with new NPCs to meet. River City Girls 2 plans to release Summer 2022.
Dungeon Munchies is a 2D side-scrolling RPG where you play as a recently deceased person who was revived in a facility under mysterious circumstances. As you navigate your way out of the facility, you gain the help of a Necro-Chef named Simmer, who helps you make dishes out of the monsters you hunt throughout the facility. These dishes help you gain new abilities, and there are over 100 different dishes to unlock. Dungeon Munchies released today for $16.99.
Let’s Play! Oink Games is an interactive board game modeled after the physical tabletop game by Oink Games. There are four different games to play, such as Deep Sea Adventure, A Fake Artist Goes to New York, Startups, and Moon Adventure.
In Deep Sea Adventure, the stakes are high, and lives are on the line when you join a group of adventurers to look for buried treasure under the sea.
In A Fake Artist Goes to New York, you have to play it cool as you figure out who is the fake artist and prevent them from figuring out who they are drawing in their artwork.
In Startups, you are an investor for one of the six biggest companies globally, but only one investor can capitalize on each company. You will need to look out for your competitors if you want to get lucky and earn big.
In Moon Adventure, you get stuck on the moon with a team of astronauts and need to figure out a way to survive. Teamwork is an essential part to surviving this space mission gone wrong.

Omori is a critically acclaimed RPG that follows Omori and his friends as they explore a colorful world together. There are multiple endings and scenes to unlock, along with encountering various enemies, as your gameplay determines the fate of others. The game also includes stunning illustrations from artist and indie game developer OMOCAT. Omori plans to release in Spring 2022.
Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a colorful adventure game that takes place within a coloring book. The game follows the disappearance of the famous artist Chicory, who is also the wielder of the Brush. As Chicory’s number one fan, you must wield the Brush yourself and pick up where she left off. Throughout your journey, you will encounter numerous puzzles, side quests and get the opportunity to unlock new painting skills. Chicory: A Colorful Tale released today for $19.99.
Timelie is a timed puzzle game where you play as a lost girl and her cat who are stuck in an abstract world. To help them find their way back home, you can control and manipulate time using your Timeline ability to look into the future, go back to the past, or travel to any sequence of time. During your gameplay, you must control timed movements for the girl and the cat so they can work together to solve puzzles, distract enemies, and move undetected through each area.
