It seems like the rumored Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game developed by Platinum is basically confirmed at this point. Screenshots were leaked early on PureXBOX.com which show us some in-game footage. The game is titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, and the game shares some similarities with the critically acclaimed Transformers Devastation. Developed by Activision and Platinum Games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan has a cel-shaded art-style that seems to borrow elements from the original black-and-white comic, the cartoons, and even the Michael Bay films. There was also an early leak of the game’s achievement list, so it’s only a matter of time before we get an official trailer or release date.
From the screenshots shown it looks like this is the TMNT game that fans have been waiting for. One screenshot shows up to four turtles at once, so hopefully this game will have 4-player co-op (something that most TMNT games surprisingly don’t have.) From the achievement list, there seems to be a possibility of an open-world map and even skateboarding. It also seems that the game will have an M rating, which may be totally awesome or kind of weird depending on how the developers handle it.
From the screenshots shown it looks like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan will have plenty of fan-service. One screenshot shows the turtles fighting Bebop, while the achievement list mentions “Krangdroids.” It looks like Platinum is giving the Turtles the same love they game transformers, hopefully staying faithful to the source material while providing some awesome action gameplay. With Transformers: Devastation, The Legend of Korra, and now Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, Platinum games seem to be the go-to company for licensed games. Can I just say how much I love Platinum and I am so excited to see them take on such a valuable intellectual property?
