In a new Release Date Trailer, the developers of Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar, Abandoned Sheep announced that their upcoming game will drop May 21st on Steam.
The bright and fun Reveal Date Trailer follows a “cat burglar”, who the trailer description tells us is aptly named “ Mittens” that’s trying to “escape” and “complete her mission.” Mittens runs through an extremely booby trapped factory-like building with multiple moving lasers, and hanging pathways. Some kind of reactor turns on while Mittens is inside it, and the cat finds herself in over her head, and Mittens covers her ears in fear. Luckily, Mittens survives the bright explosion and now seems to be able to split into two, keeping her original body and gaining a see-through form that allows her to be “ … in two places at once.”
The trailer shows how some of her duo abilities work as the cat forms chase themselves in a circle, Mittens runs on the building’s flooring while her doppelganger runs on the railing next to Mittens, before jumping and landing a bit behind her. When her opaque cat form is trapped in a chamber, Mittens pulls down a lever and sets it free, allowing the transparent cat to grab what Mittens wanted.
The game asks players to “solve puzzles…” as Mittens and her power allow a team up to get around barriers, blocked doors and underground corridors, even jumping into floating teleportation orbs. There are cameras in the building that are able to spot Mittens, as she “find secrets…” Mittens can take on different color skins and wear different costumes, collars and eyewear e.t.c.
The trailer teases who might be the antagonist in the game, a tiny hedgehog with glasses who does the standard evil laugh while clapping its hands, before Mittens flies through a pipe transport tube. The trailer ends with the message “BE CUTE” “DO CRIMES” before a small clip of Mittens causing chaos in someone’s home.
