Super Neptunia RPG, a side-scrolling, turn-based JRPG, celebrated its North American release this week. The game launched earlier this month on the Steam Store, but more recently launched the title for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The game’s publisher, Idea Factory International, shared the game’s release as well as a DLC schedule in a recent Twitter post.
Super Neptunia RPG takes place in the world of Gamindustri. Here, an organization known as Bombyx Mori rule over the citizens and strongly enforce their belief that 2D games are the superior game style. Anyone caught using advanced technology or crafting anything other than 2D games are banished to the Trial Grounds. It is here that the game’s cute purple-haired protagonist awakens, literally. Embark on an exciting adventure with Neptune, a young girl who wakes up with no recollection of anything other than her name. Used to seeing everything in 3D, she quickly becomes concerned when she begins to notice the more flat and pixelated surroundings, as well as herself. She soon encounters other adventures, with some familiar faces, who all also suffer from amnesia. Together, with a mysterious book in hand, the group will set out on a mission to reclaim their memories and save the world of 3D games.
The studio also posted an update to the Super Neptunia RPG Steam page. Idea Factory International is offering special discounts in honor of the Steam Summer Sale. In this extended sale, players can save up to 90% on games, deluxe packs, and DLCs. During the first week of its launch, users will receive a 20% off discount, as well as 10% off the Deluxe Pack, offered for Super Neptunia RPG. Included in the Deluxe Pack will be bonuses such as Character & Background Art Collection, PC & Mobile Wallpapers, and the game’s official soundtrack. There will also be eight additional DLCs available, with future DLC to be announced at a later date. The sale has been extended until July 9th, so make sure to take advantage of the deals by visiting the studio’s Steam Publisher Page.

Super Neptunia RPG is now available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC for North American players. The game will be released for European players tomorrow, June 28th.
