What a day the San Fransisco Shock had, breaking records left and right. Earlier today, the San Fransisco Shock set an Overwatch League record that will be tough to beat. With the Shock’s 4-0 win over the Shanghai Dragons, the team went undefeated in Stage 2. While that has been done before, the Boston Uprising, New York Excelsior, and the Vancouver Titans all laying claim to the accomplishment, the Shock managed to do it without dropping a single map, which has never been done before.

History has been made.

While the Vancouver Titans obviously did not go 28-0 this stage (they pulled off a respectable 25-3 map count), they did manage to go undefeated in Stage 2 as well. For those who don’t remember, it was the San Fransisco Shock and the Vancouver Titans squaring off for the Stage 1 Championship at the end of March. While the Shock put up quite the fight, they ultimately fell to the red-hot Titans. With the Shock moving into the playoffs on the hottest streak the league has ever seen, there’s no doubt they’re looking for a bit of revenge on the Titans. The Shock face off against the Dragons on May 9, and the Titans take on the Dallas Fuel the next day, and should they both win their matches, the long-awaited grudge match will be upon us.

While the lead story is definitely the Shock going undefeated without dropping a single map, it’s clear that one broken record was just not enough. On map two earlier today versus the Shanghai Dragons, the Shock also set the record for a full-clear, an astounding 1:57 time, while attacking on Paris. The Dragons forced overtime on the map, sending the Shock back on attack. Not only did the Shock snag the win, but broke the record that they had just set with a new time of 1:36! All said and done, the San Fransisco Shock are here to make a statement, but is it enough to walk away as Stage 2 Champions?
