Liquid Swords, the developers behind Samson, posted an official console release date trailer for the game earlier this morning. The game released on April 8th, 2026 on Steam and has received mixed reviews from its player base since. However, Liquid Swords has been hard at work to launch the game for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
For those unfamiliar with Samson, it is an action-adventure game that blends racing with brawling. The game is set in Tyndalston, featuring open world districts and a city that changes in response to the player’s actions. Factions will rise and fall while players uncover the main protagonist’s past. Players find themselves embodying Samson, who is returning to Tyndalston only to realize the city is unforgiving, especially towards him.
The Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Sundberg, reveals the hard work the development team has put into each update, which adds new features and polish to the game. Some of the features include adding a tutorial to help players learn how to fight, a new combat camera, and three new difficulty modes: crook, hustler, and enforcer.
Combat has been updated, promising improved mechanics and brawling experience. Some of the changes to the mechanics includes a wider parry window, no interruptions during takedowns, and less repetitive heavy attacks. These advancements and new features highlight the developers dedication to creating the fighting experience that players desire.
In terms of gameplay, there have been more jobs added and more debt collectors that will hunt the players down. A new area was added, the Lone Line Circuit, featuring a winding race track. There have also been improvements to vechile customization that will enable players to stylize their car to their tastes. Samson will be releasing on September 21st and is one racing-brawlers that proves to have a dedicated development team.
