When Mass Effect: Andromeda was first announced, gamers found out that the protagonist Ryder could be played as either male or female. Now it has been released that no matter which sex you choose Ryder to be, the other will also be somewhere in the game and that they are in fact brother and sister, according to Mac Walters, the creative lead of Mass Effect: Andromeda. The Mass Effect series is no stranger to allowing the player to choose between a male or female protagonist, but having both Ryders in the game is not something you see often, if at all.
The character in the trailer switching between a screen of locations before being transported to one full of stars and wearing the N7 Armor seen above has also been revealed to be related to the Ryder siblings.
Walters says the following about the relationship between the Ryder siblings and the character seen wearing the N7 armor:
Another fun little tidbit is the character we saw two E3s ago in the N7 is actually their father. We’ve got the full Ryder family now revealed. We’ll do names and things in the future.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be taking advantage of the technology of the Playstation Pro and there was a 4K gameplay video shown.
BioWare also confirmed that the game will be run at 30FPS for both the PS4 and PS Pro, according to mxdwn writer Eric Chang.
BioWare’s Aaron Flynn also reveal that a new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda will drop on November 7 in order to “officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe.” This date is also know as N7 day, which is day BioWare uses to celebrate its science-fiction franchise.
While there has been no official release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda, the game will drop sometime in 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
