It’s been less than three months but it looks like Respawn Entertainment is already moving on to the next entry in the Star Wars Jedi franchise. The studio has posted job listing on their site for a Senior VFX Artist with the Star Wars Jedi as a headliner next to it. The location is a remote one as there are several different cities and regions in the listing. It’s also possible that EA/Respawn could hire several different people to fill the spot and work at each different area.
This doesn’t come as a huge surprise as the director of Survivor stated back in March that he very much wanted to see the series as trilogy. Since most AAA titles require a long time span of development for a complete title, it’s possible that the studio wants to get a head start on the next entry. Still, it’ll be hard to top what many now consider one of the best, if not the best Star Wars title of all time. Survivor released to critical acclaim, with many critics praising the combat, and the overworld exploration as a major feature of the title.
While this praise was mainly aimed at the home console versions, the same unfortunately could not be said for the PC iteration. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched on PC with a plethora of bug and performance issues that made the game almost unplayable. Respawn has been attempting to fix it, with limited success, but at the very least they appear to be making some progress. Hopefully, whenever they ship the third entry, the PC port will be much more optimized and readily available.
