We’re almost to the long awaited launch date for one of the most anticipated titles of the year. Starfield is finally set to release on September 6, 2023, or September 1 if you have Early Access, which is this Friday! One of the most asked about aspects of Starfield is whether the game will go live with some of Bethesda’s most well-known features: bugs. That tongue-in-cheek joke notwithstanding, Bethesda’s IPs have a long history of being released with a plethora of bugs and issues. However, according to a source associated with Inside Gaming, Starfield is the company’s least buggiest title to date.
This source, identified as “journalist Tyler McVicker”, was not able to disclose a whole lot in terms of information with specifics. However, they did reveal in a Discord server that they were deep into the game and had yet to encounter any major issues. “Also, 15 hours in and not a single bug,” the statement reads. Inside Gaming reached out to other sources regarding this sentiment, all of whom felt the exact same as McVicker. In addition, the publication states that any and all bugs located within the game are all planned on fixed in a Day 1 patch.
While bugs and game issues are nothing new when it comes to game launches nowadays, Bethesda’s have become legendary, or in some cases, infamous. These titles include some major AAA players such as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 just to name a few. If these sources’ claims hold true to the release, then Bethesda may have actually broken their streak of titles released with game-breaking bugs. However, we won’t know the full extent of this until we get our hands on the title ourselves, which will be very soon.
Starfield will officially launch on September 6, 2023, for the Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC. It will also be available in Early Access on September 1.
