Rumor: Persona 5 T Domain Updated, Title Reveal Could be Soon

It looks like we could be in for yet another iteration of Atlus’ Persona 5. The largest Persona-related information news site on the web, Persona Centralrecently identified a specific domain with the code of “P5T.JP.” This led fans giving the domain the name of  “Persona 5 T,” which started rumors of a new entry in the Persona 5 line. Well, it looks like it could be much more than a rumor as Persona Central has discovered that the domain was updated in what the publication calls ” a move to the company’s owned nameservers instead of the Onamae (Japanese domain registrar) nameservers for the generic landing page.”

In essence, what this means is that the owner of the domain, or the IP, has moved the license to one of their own private server and removed it from initial registration. This is normally done when the owner of the domain is readying the site to be unveiled to the public, or in this case, the potential Persona IP. This is specifically important as Atlus has previously done all of these steps when preparing to announce a new title in recent years. This includes Persona Q2, Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight & Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, Catherine: Full Body, Persona 5 Royal, and Persona 5 Strikers.

What’s most intriguing about all of this is not so much that Atlus is preparing a new IP to unveil, but the fast that it could be another version of the beloved Persona 5. We’ve already seen the initial edition, which launched in 2016, and then the critically acclaimed Persona 5 Royal in 2020, which added plethora of new features and abilities. For Atlus to bring out a potential third version of the game is both unprecedented and not surprising. On one hand the company has done this many times, specifically with Persona 3 and Persona 4, both receiving three and two versions respectively. On the other hand, many fans feel it’s time to move onto the next entry, Persona 6, which is especially felt after the recently announced Persona 5: The Phantom X mobile game spin-off. Either way, Atlus has something to show us, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they were waiting for the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2023 to reveal it.
