Rumor: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Could be Teased for a Release on Xbox

The Brazilian Xbox account made a post on X that may or may not have had a tease in it. The post, which as now been deleted, was in regard to the nation’s Fathers Day, and included an image that showed various video game dads from different franchises. Right smack in the middle of that image was none other than Barret and Marlene from Final Fantasy VII. Even more conspicuous was that the characters were specifically taken from the Final Fantasy VII Remaster title, a game that is, as of this writing, exclusive to the PlayStation and PC platforms.

It’s important to note that the original 1997 Final Fantasy VII is playable on the Xbox platform. As we already mentioned, the Remake is currently not available on any Xbox system. What may have been originally an innocent post for a holiday, has now become an image for fans to hypothesize that the Remake is eventually coming to the Xbox console line. This is further emphasized by the very fact that the main Brazil account for Xbox made the post, something that we’d imagine is not an oversight as they would normally only include franchises/characters from their own gaming umbrella.

As we said earlier, the post has since been deleted, which only further fuels the rumor. Thankfully, the post, which can be seen in this post above, was grabbed by a user on ResetEra, and since then has been thrown around the internet by anyone and everyone. Neither the Brazil account, or Microsoft in general has made any sort of official comment in regards to this, but for the time being, all signs point to the title releasing on the Xbox at some point.
