Yesterday, Rockstar Games released an apology regarding the various issues players had with the PC edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. The apology explains that Rockstar Games has identified the source of the issues and is currently working to patch them. According to the statement released by Rockstar Newswire, the company released several updates to deal with the stuttering problem that can be found in the game.
According to apology, the main reason for the game stuttering is due to “unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPU’s. ” Rockstar also stated in the apology that they would release updates yesterday to address the stuttering problem as well as a host of other issues plaguing the PC release. However, they have stated that it may take a few days for Rockstar to finish the updates as they still have to test everything to make sure the issue is truly resolved. The good news is that the company has stated that they have found and solved a number of the issues already by sending the patches to the Rockstar Games Launcher and to Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Edition.
As thanks for continued support from fans, Rockstar is also dolling out gifts for the holiday season. Gamers who decide to play Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC through the holiday will receive some wonderful prizes. The apology ends with “And as a show of gratitude to our PC fans while we sort this out in the coming days, everyone who plays Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this week and through to the holiday season will receive a complimentary care package for Red Dead Online that includes the Prieto Poncho and an assortment of provisions and ammo.” It is currently unknown if all of the issues have been patched as of the time of writing, but more information will likely be released at a later date.
