Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy-The Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy-The Definitive Edition has officially been confirmed today by Rockstar Games. This confirmation comes after recent rumors of a remaster being made. The game will include Grand Theft Auto IIIGrand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Rockstar Games gives details about the trilogy on their website, stating that the game “will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles, while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals.” This is in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III.

The game will be launching on Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. It will also be coming to mobile phones through iOS and Android in the first half of 2022. The original games will be removed from console and PC digital retailers starting the week of October 11, 2021, according to the Rockstar Games Support webpage. But players who have previously purchased the games online will be able to download and play them on their platform. A release date for the game has not been announced yet but future updates will be coming from the company over the next few weeks according to their website.

The announcement from Rockstar Games concluded with news of future updates for GTA Online including, Grand Theft Auto III anniversary events, GTA Online’s arrival to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, changes to Adversary Modes, changes to Player Jobs and a hint at an all-new adventure for players.
