Rocket League Sideswipe, the mobile adaptation of the popular video game where you play soccer with rocket-powered cars, has been released worldwide on iOS and Android devices! It was first out for early access in Oceania starting November 15th, but now it is available for everyone to enjoy. The mobile version is much more simplified than the original Rocket League that was first released in 2015. It takes place in a 2D arena rather than the intricate 3-dimensional stadium. The teams are limited to two players only on each side instead of four, and the cars’ rocket boosters recharge automatically
. In the mobile version, there is no need to seek out charging pads or rotate the viewfinder to match your car’s direction. The gameplay controls consist of a joystick for movement on the lower right corner of the screen and a few buttons on the lower-left corner for jumping and rocket boost. These controls are said to be very easy to use. For a better look at the new style of gameplay, check out the trailer below.
In the first few days after its global release, the game has already been rated on the App Store as #1 in action games. If you are unfamiliar with Rocket League, the mobile version could be a great way to introduce yourself to this crazy game. This is a multiplayer game where you are challenged to team up with others and try to get the soccer ball into the opposing team’s goal. However, these cars are not everyday sedans. These race cars are upgraded with rockets. By jumping and then rocketing your car forward, you can fly into the air and use the rockets to hit the ball in many different directions. The game is simple, but it allows for some really interesting and chaotic gameplay. If Rocket League Sideswipe sounds like something that interests you, it can be downloaded for free on the App Store and on the Google Play store.
