The Major League Baseball All-Star Game, held at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9, is one of the most exciting events in the MLB (outside of the World Series of course). Rocket League has been no stranger to the MLB in the past, releasing the MLB Fan Pack this past March, and is set to visit the ballpark one more time in celebration of the Midsummer Classic. Announced in a post earlier today, the game will be adding a new item, called the 2019 All-Star Cap Topper, to the game on July 8.
The topper will be available free for all players between July 8 and July 15 just for logging into the game. In addition to the new free All-Star topper, the MLB Fan Pack is also getting two additional toppers, one for each of the two MLB leagues, the American and National Leagues. The AL and NL toppers will be given to all players who have already purchased the Fan Pack. The DLC released a slew of MLB-themed items such as toppers, flags, and player banners for each of the 30 MLB teams, and even the Baseball Rocket Boost. If you haven’t picked up the MLB Fan Pack yet, it is still available for $2.99 in-game.
Rocket League’s summer event, Radical Summer, is also going on right now. Currently, the game is in its ’80s Blockbusters phase, which ends July 1. ’80s Blockbuster features the limited Ghost Hunt mode, a Ghostbusters-themed ball-capture game. July 1 to July 22 begins the ’80s Culture phase, featuring the Spike Rush game mode, which has been described as rugby on wheels during an E3 panel with the some of the game’s team members. Finally, from July 22 to August 12 break out the board shorts and shades for the Beach Ball game mode during the ’80s Television phase.
Fans of MLB and Rocket League once again come together for the All-Star Game, so don’t forget to log in from July 8 to July 15 for the free topper and you can participate in Radical Summer going on now.
