Rocket League Season 6 World Championship Begins This Weekend

With a stellar Season 6 come and gone, it’s finally time for the Rocket League World Championship! Ten teams from three regions will battle it out to crown a Season 6 champion, starting with the first rounds on November 9 through the November 11 Grand Finals. This season’s World Championship will be held at the Orleans Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada and tickets are still available through Ticketmaster if you’re looking to catch the matches live and in person. Check out the highlights from Season 6 here to get just a taste of what’s to come in the tournament:

Representing North America is Evil Geniuses, G2 Esports, Cloud9, and NRG eSports. From Europe comes PSG Esports, Flipside Tactics, We Dem Girlz, and the World Champions from Season 5, Team Dignitas. Representing Oceania will be Tainted Minds and Chiefs Esports Club. Matches kick off on Friday, November 9.

Since there are only two teams from the Oceania region, they will face the bottom seed teams from Europe and North America in the opening round, while the other six teams go right to the Quarterfinals. The top seeds from Europe and North America, Team Dignitas and NRG eSports respectively, will play the victors from the first round. Each matchup will be best of 5, with the winners moving on to the later rounds, and the losers playing in the Losers bracket on November 10 and 11. Hope is not lost for the teams who find themselves down in the Losers bracket, as consecutive wins there could still land you in the Grand Finals, which is what happened in Season 5 to Team Dignitas. Team Dignitas was defeated by NRG in the Semifinals but proceeded to defeat Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, and CompLexity Gaming to force a rematch against NRG for the championship.

Rocket League World Championship is live November 9 through 11, and the entire tournament will be broadcast on Twitch for the majority of fans who can’t make it to Vegas. Will your favorite team rise above and grab some of the 1 million dollar prize pool (the largest to date) or will they whiff and leave empty-handed?
