Earlier today, the Psyonix team announced the upcoming Rocket Pass 4 to Rocket League in post on their website. A new trailer was also released to mark the event, complete with new tiered loot and a new car called the Mudcat. Rocket Pass 4 will go live on August 28 at 10 am PDT and run until December 4. Players will have until the start of the new Rocket Pass to complete tiers of the previous Rocket Pass, and will have to once again purchase the Premium track if they want all the extra goodies available. The Premium track can be purchased for 10 keys, or players have the option of spending 20 keys for the Premium Bundle, which unlocks the Premium track as well as the first 12 tiers. Players who opt to go the Premium track will receive the new car, the Mudcat, immediately. Upgraded versions of the Mudcat, called the Mudcat G1 and the Mudcat GXT, will be unlocked at tier 25 and 70 respectively.
Rocket Pass 4 goes live just a day after the Season 12 update is scheduled to hit the game. Once the update goes live and kicks off Season 12 of competitive Rocket League, rocket boost will be given to players based on the highest ranking they currently hold in competitive. Players will receive the boost of their ranking, plus each boost in the lower ranks. Special rewards will be given to Grand Champion ranks, so make sure to check out the blog post for the full list. The update goes live on August 27 at 10 am PDT, and Season 11 will end two hours before that, at 8 am PDT, so make sure to get your last matches in before that.
The update, in addition to beginning Season 12, also brings “a few new quality-of-life changes to the game,” and a new HDR audio mix. In more quirky addition, players will now be able to slam their car into their teammates, both midair and on the ground, to track high-fives and low-fives after a goal. Earlier this month, Psyonix announced that they would be removing loot crates from the game sometime in the near future. Currently, it is unclear if this is the update that will see loot crates get the ax, but Psyonix noted that they would make further announcements via their website regarding their departure date.
