Rocket League is Getting a Retail Release

The good news just doesn’t seem to stop for indie mega-hit Rocket League.  Along with getting released recently for the XBOX ONE, Rocket League will get a physical release in retail stores soon.   Vice President of Psyonix Studios Jeremy Dunham announced “we are going to be announcing very soon that Rocket League is coming to retail…We’re going to be talking about who our partner is, when [you] can expect to see it, and what comes in the package.”

According to the Rocket League Facebook page, Psyonix claimed that “we’ll make sure the retail version is special.”  It’s unsure what the retail version will contain or what the price will be.  It would probably be $19.99 like the downloadable version, but extra content could justify a price increase.

Speaking of extra content, it was also announced that there will be a Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack which lets players play as the Batmobile.  The DLC is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Games, so you are using the actual Batmobile in a flying car soccer game.  The DLC will release March 8th for $1.99.

Every news I hear about Rocket League just makes me more impressed on how big the game has become.  It’s great that a game with such a unique concept can reach such a wide audience.
