Rising Star Games is a joint games publishing business made up of Scandinavian distributor Bergsala and Japanese video game publisher and developer Intergrow. They’re most well known for publishing quirky cult hits such as Swery’s Deadly Premonition and Suda 51’s No More Heroes 2. Today, they’ve announced their upcoming showcase of four games at Penny Arcade Expo West 2016.
According to Gamasutra, Rising Star Games is holding a booth at the North Hall on the main exhibit floor. Attendees will be able to get their hands on four upcoming titles. The featured games are as follows: 88 Heroes, Conga Master, Earth’s Dawn, and Brut@l.
88 Heroes is a 2D platformer developed by Bitmap Bureau, the same team that made Super House of the Dead Ninjas. It features 88 levels that have to be completed within 88 minutes. Whenever a level is completed or the player dies, another hero with their own unique skill joins the game. It’s up to the 88 heroes to stop the evil ambitions of Dr. H8.
Conga Master is a party arcade title developed by Undercoders. Up to four players are tasked with gathering as many dancers as possible to create the largest conga line ever. As players go through nightclubs to attract party goers, they’ll have to avoid hazards such as pigs and custodians.
Earth’s Dawn is a 2D action sidescroller developed by Oneoreight. According to GEMATSU, the game previously launched in Japan on September 2015. Rising Star Games is bringing this game to western territories. The game takes place after an invasion of Earth. The evil forces of the E.B.E have destroyed the planet and must be stopped by humans who have gained their technology.
Finally, Brut@l is a modern take on the ASCII dungeon crawlers. The game features roguelike mechanics and four different classes. Players can take on the role of a ranger, mage, warrior, or amazon.
All four games will be playable at Booth # 114 in the North Hall on the main exhibit of P.AX West 2016
