Reverse: 1999 Version 1.7 Brings Players to the Opera in Vienna

Reverse:1999 is currently in the tail end of its biggest patch to date Version 1.6. Jiu Niangzi the first fully limited character in the game’s run and Getian are the new characters on rate up. However, the trailer for version 1.7 has arrived, and with it a whole host of new information. First of all there are two new characters coming to version 1.7: Isolde and Marcus.

Isolde is a Spirit type 6 star debuffer and burn support. She will reign supreme with 6 up near the top of the tier list for quite a while. She cements herself as the best support for Spathodea, able to passively apply burn every turn, meaning that Spathodea’s true power can finally be unlocked. Isolde is also an opera singer in the game, and the voice actor playing her recorded little singing sections for all her in-game attacks. Whether that is a positive or negative is up to personal preference.

Marcus is a Plant type 6 star damage dealer focused around using her ultimate. Marcus does mental damage, as opposed to the previous Plant DPS Jessica’s reality damage. This means Marcus will use different supports than Jessica and other reality damage DPS. Some universal supports are up for grabs though, such as 6 or Isolde. Marcus won’t be necessarily meta shifting, at least on release, but will benefit from characters released in later patches. One such character will be coming in the first half of Version 1.8.

Besides that there will also be a new main story chapter, the first since Version 1.4, centered around Isolde and Marcus. The two will also have their own character stories, and a host of smaller events to fill out the patch. There will also be a rerun of the Version 1.2 event story “A Nightmare at Green Lake.” Players can check out Isolde’s character trailer now. Version 1.7 “E lucevan le stelle” will take players to Vienna starting July 11th.
