Reverse: 1999’s Global Server is getting one of the most anticipated updates from the Chinese server, version 1.6. Here version 1.6 will serve as the half-year anniversary patch for the global server, and is set to begin on May 30th after maintenance. Version 1.6 will see the introduction of a rather large host of events and the introduction of three new characters.
First, and most important, is Jiu Niangzi, a 6-star Mineral-type DPS who is the game’s first truly limited character. Up until this point, every new character on Rate Up has been added to the standard pool two patches after their release. However, Jiu Niangzi’s banner will only be available for the full six weeks of Version 1.6, before being unavailable until her rerun. She is also the best DPS in the game upon release, working very nicely with characters like 37 and 6, who both make use of a mechanic called Eureka. 37 specifically functions as a great sub-DPS in these teams because she gains stacks from follow-up attacks, which Jiu Niangzi loves to perform. As of now, it seems Jiu Niangzi will not be power crept at all until Version 1.8 at the earliest, and that is still up for contention. Either way, her limited nature means that players that want to enjoy having the best DPS around might want to roll on her banner.
The other new 6-star character is Getian, a Beast type support that specializes in reality damage (which is separate from typings like Beast or Mineral). He is an amazing all around support for reality DPS units, and a good pick up for many of the reality DPS currently in the game. Getian will be on rate up from June 20th until the end of the version July 11th. After that players must wait two patches, when he will join the standard pool of characters, and become a character that might spook you on your unguaranteed summons.
Finally the last new character is 5-star Yenisei who will be on Jiu Niangzi’s banner but is not limited in the same way, joining the standard set once the Jiu Niangzi banner concludes. Yenisei is a Star-type healer and support who can buff allies and debuff enemies with her skills. Overall, Yenisei seems like a good addition to the roster of Star teams that don’t already have the best healer in the game currently, Tooth Fairy a 6-star healer of the Star type, who is part of the standard pool.
Other notable additions during this update will be a rerun of the Version 1.1 events, so new players will have the chance to experience an older event and pick up some classic rewards. The rerun banner this patch allows players to select two characters from all 6-star characters between Version 1.0 and 1.3, and set them as the possible options.
Overall, 1.6 is set to be an absolutely massive patch for Global Reverse: 1999 players.
