Get your dummy finger ready because it might finally have a use, maybe.
Yesterday, Kellen Haney, Social Media Specialist for Capcom, announced on the PlayStation Blog that Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour will be getting an update today.
Called the Twilight update, it will give players more access to the Louisiana plantation and allows players to do more than just wander around and watch videos. To celebrate the Twilight Update, Capcom released a new trailer for the game.
The trailer is titled TAPE-2 “The Bakers”. It opens with a distress sounding woman, potentially the one from the last trailer, telling someone named Ethan not to go to the mansion as the video cuts through different areas on the plantation. From there we get a look at some new parts of the mansion area as Ethan is chased by Bayou Terminator. The whole trailer culminates in this chilling dinner sequence with the entire Baker family.
Haney didn’t go into details about the update, so you’ll have to play it for yourself, but there were a ton of new screens pulled from the trailer that might hint as to what will be in the Twilight Update.
The biggest and most obvious one in the shot you see above which showcases a very familiar looking foyer. It almost looks like if you mashed the mansion from the first Resident Evil and the cabin from Until Dawn.
Another image shows our player character dumping a clear liquid over their bloodied hand, this is most likely this game’s version of the Green Herb.
From the look of the first demo, many were wondering if Resident Evil 7 would have combat in it beyond melee weapons. According to Game Rant, Capcom assured players that yes, there would be, just not many. Now we have our first look at the game’s weaponry. You can read more about the game’s weapons here.
The demo was previously only available to PlayStation Plus members, but as of today, all PS4 owners can download the demo.
Resident Evil 7 will be out on January 24th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
