It looks like Microsoft just gave the fans a much bigger reason to tune into the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase and the Starfield Direct. Both events will take place next Sunday, June 11, and will include a number of updates and announcements for all first-party titles under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella. Microsoft VP of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter to promote the events when he responded to a comment from a user asking for both gameplay and a CGI trailer for titles. Greenburg took that a step further by saying that none of the first party titles shown will have any CGI and will instead have ” in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics.”
In short, this means that every first party title that is shown in the presentation will have full gameplay shown, no CGI trailers to hype up the fan bases. In addition to this amazing update, Greenburg also states earlier in the thread that the event will run for approximately two hours. On top of that, Greenburg mentions that the event will only be about video games. This means that we should expect nothing about films or television in, even if they’re related to an Xbox title.
Greenburg finishes the thread by saying that he won’t tease or spoil anything and recommends fans going into the presentations to “just come in open minded & enjoy the ride.” Greenburg didn’t differentiate whether these features would be specific to one presentation or another, so it’s possible that even the Starfield Direct will have some in-game trailers for us to see, which only makes us that much more excited.
The Xbox Games Showcase will commence on Sunday, June 11 at 10:00 am PST/1:00 pm EST on their official Twitch and YouTube channels. The Starfield Direct will follow immediately after the Xbox presentation has concluded.
