Report: Ghost of Tsushima Art Label Updated, Sparking Rumors of a PC Port

More interesting news has come out in terms of titles becoming non-exclusives, and once again it’s for a PlayStation brand. Video Games Chronicle has reported that the cover art for Ghost of Tsushima has been updated to remove the “Only on PlayStation” title on the top right, instead puttin the PlayStation Studios logo on the bottom right, leaving the former bare. This has caused the gaming community to speculate whether Ghost of Tsushima will be coming to the PC platform in the foreseeable future.

The buzz surrounding this new cover art has some merit as two previous PlayStation titles, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gonealso had the signature line removed from their art before being ported to PC. With that in mind, it would not be such a huge surprise should Sony eventually announce Ghost of Tsushima for the PC platform. On the flip side, the company also seems to be going away from the exclusive tagline, as none of the PlayStation 5 games have it on any of their art covers, including PlayStation 5 exclusive Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Speaking of the PlayStation 5, another theory is that Ghost of Tsushima could be potentially getting an upgraded version made just for Sony’s new console. However, this is unlikely to occur as the game has been updated to run at 60 frames per second and also support 4K resolution when being played on a PlayStation 5. As is the case with a lot of these situations, neither Sony nor Sucker Punch have made any official statement on the matter, and most likely won’t until they have something concrete to announce.

Should the game come to the PC platform, then the PC gaming community will have gained an outstanding, excellent, and beautiful open world title. Ghost of Tsushima was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2020, and quickly became both the fastest-selling new IP for the PlayStation 4 and the fastest-selling original game for the PlayStation 4, all within the same year. It went onto be nominated for several awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards.
