With this year being the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, there has been a lot of exciting news from archeology museums to game remakes and more. Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl were released fifteen years ago on the Nintendo DS, and now, fans will be able to explore time and space in the Sinnoh region again. The 4th generation introduced over a hundred new pokemon, region, and features to the pokemon series which allowed players more accessibility to complete the pokédex and competitive play. From the announcement trailer, the games seem to be accurate remakes to the original games, but it is unknown if the games will include some of the newer mechanics introduced later in the Pokémon franchise. The game will be available for the Switch on November 19, 2021.
Pokémon Legends Arceus is “a new approach for the Pokémon video game series” in development by Game Freak. It will include an open-world concept and follow the story of old Sinnoh mixing both old and new experiences. After receiving their very own pokémon from a traveling professor, players will traverse the world catching and battling pokémon to complete the first Sinnoh pokédex and discover the secrets of the legendary Arceus.
