We’re just a couple of months away from the highly anticipated Tekken 8, which is slated to launch early next year on January 26, 2024. Bandai Namco has just revealed the final base character for the title, going by the name of Reina, who appears to have some sort of connection to the Mishima clan. What that connection is remains a mystery for now, but she does use the signature Mishima-fighting style, making her appearance even more intriguing.
It’s time for them to learn their place.

The trailer shows Reina also using Taido karate, which is shown with her lightning fast kicks. She also has a very powerful lightning fist technique, similar to how other fighters use abilities to amplify their attacks. This only emphasizes her relation to the Mishima fighting style as Heihachi also used this, especially when hammering his opponents with his powerful punches and whirlwind kicks. Jin also encounters her in the trailer, where he claims that he doesn’t know who she is, while Reina exclaims that she can finally fight him. A similar meeting takes place with Kazuya Mishima, with Reina responding with “you’ll understand soon enough.”

As this is the final base fighter to be revealed before the game launches, we also got a nice look at the final roster to boot. As you can see in the image above, there are 32 initial fighters available to play right out of the gate, which is absolutely exciting for fighting fans world wide. On top of this already stacked roster, we’ll eventually see the standard Season Passes with new fighters in each set, increasing the roster size and offering even more options to choose from. Tekken 8 will launch next year on January 26, 2024 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
