RedG Studio’s Survival Horror Game S.O.N. Has Released the Second Trailer

RedG Studio‘s survival horror game, S.O.N., created by the Fortnite game engine Unreal Engine 4, has released a new trailer on PlayStation 4’s official Youtube channel. The preview trailer showed us its actual gameplay. Compared with the previous indoor trailer, this trailer depicts footage of a dark jungle and feels even more horrible. The footage uses a family DV perspective similar to The Blair Witch Project to enhance the game’s sense of immersion. The scene is full of creepy fear, dark, bloody corridors, and jump scares. There are inverted crosses and hanging bodies, and some rooms filled with purple neon lights.

Here’s a closer view at the new trailer:

The background of the game is set in modern times. In this game, the player will play as a father named Robert Alderson who embarks on a journey into a dark forest in Pennsylvania to find his missing child. This is not the first missing child event in this dark forest. By 2018, 648 people have disappeared there, but only the bodies of 22 children have been found.

You can see that this trailer is designed in a videotape style: the player walks in the snow-covered forest and finds corpses and bloody words along the road. Then the next cut turns into a dark building, hearing children’s crying voice remotely and the blood on the ground. These scenes all indicate that there is something crazy waiting for our player to explore.

At the beginning of the new trailer, we are introduced to the vestiges of a previous case with a tape and the text of a mother’s quote: “They found the wreckage of my husband and daughter today, I almost can’t recognize them.” Also, the trailer illustrates traditional horror game tropes such as various horror creatures suddenly passing in the dark, as well as the crying of the erratic child. Players must face the unknown fears and devils in order to rescue the protagonist’s child in the forest.

S.O.N will land on the PlayStation 4 platform on December 11.
