Sony’s disorientating teaser trailer for the PS4 might have been frustrating and vomit-inducing for the average gamer, but somehow the company’s stock actually made an enormous jump yesterday. There is renewed interest and investor confidence in the PS4, but that probably has more to do with the next Xbox being a TV/watercooler promoted by soulless robo-freaks who talk with their hands. Regardless, the gaming community is dying to get a look at the next PlayStation which, if Sony adhere to previous design trends, will be a life size replica of the monolith from 2001.
We won’t get an actual look at the PS4 until E3 in June, but redditor Albino-Zebra has put together this Daft Punk-esque mock-up based on the blurry squares and extreme close-ups from the teaser trailer. I dare say nobody would be disappointed if the Ps4 actually looked like this, though it still looks a lot like a George Foreman grill. Seriously, I have an overwhelming urge to put a drip tray in front of it. The cheese could leak out of the next Final Fantasy game at any time!
Of course we can’t all be good at photoshop or imagination…or living in general, but that hasn’t stopped redditor Taggart451 from trying his hand at creating his own mock-up, this time oddly reminiscent of Picasso’s masterpiece Guernica. Haunting.
