Publisher Red Dunes Games and developer Agate have revealed the release date of Port of Jumanah, an upcoming Arabian-inspired underwater adventure game featuring roguelite elements. Scheduled for a multi-platform release this fall, the announcement arrived alongside a new trailer showcasing the charming visual aesthetics and 2.5D combat systems. Fans of the action roguelite genre can look forward to exploring the uncharted wilderness of the sea when the title officially launches September 7.
In Port of Jumanah, players navigate a multitude of expansive oceans as Mansour, a young man who finds himself swept up in a series of unfortunate events that ultimately pull him onto a massive world-saving journey. Before venturing too deep into the unknown, users must prepare to face completely unique environments and varied species of aquatic life. Much of the adventure requires explorers to hunt for hidden treasures, defeat whatever dangerous mysteries are lurking beneath the surface, and hone their combat abilities to push through challenging underwater currents. Along the way, players will interact with unexpected friends and foes, allowing them to choose whether to engage in deep and meaningful conversations or simply face off in another battle.
Character growth relies heavily on tactical engagements and continuous progression. The heart of the experience tasks players with completing various aquatic missions to constantly upgrade their kit and secure victory during increasingly difficult encounters. Through combat experience, divers can unlock new abilities and essential gear to help them survive during their treacherous descents into the salty depths. Outside of direct battle, users are encouraged to heavily modify their journey by recruiting a loyal crew of friends to their personal vessel. These companions, which even include a feline crewmate, bring unique assistance to the table throughout the long voyages.
Port of Jumanah is currently scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 7, with demo available now.
