Rockstar has announced the previously announced that the Playstation Now version of Red Dead Redemption will be available for PS4 and PC on December 6. It was already available for the Xbox One because of the system’s backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games. A performance analyst previously said that Red Dead Redemption was better played on the Xbox One than it is on the Xbox 360. Playstation Now is Sony’s version of backwards compatibility, which hasn’t been for a Sony system since the PS2 was able to play PS1 games.
Playstation Now is Sony’s game streaming service which allows for games to be played on a variety of systems. Two of them are the PS4 and PC. The fact that Red Dead Redemption is going to be available for PC is momentous, considering that Red Dead Redemption has never previously been compatible for PC despite PC players calling for a PC version. While it is not a PC version of Red Dead Redemption, it’s the PS3 version steamed to a PC, PC gamers will finally be able to play one of Rockstar’s most famous games after the Grand Theft Auto series.
Of course, only the PS3 version of the game will be available for Playstation Now. The Red Dead Redemption release will come with the Undead Nightmare version, which introduces a zombie-themed campaign as well as a zombie horde multiplayer, made famous by the Left 4 Dead series.
Rockstar recently announced that there will be a long-awaited sequel for Red Dead Redemption called Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption was originally released all the way back in 2010 making the difference between the two games seven years. Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to be available for PS4 and Xbox One Fall 2017.
Rockstar said that Red Dead Redemption 2 is “an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will provide the foundation for a brand-new online multiplayer experience.”
Rockstar also re-released Red Dead Redemption’s predecessor Red Dead Revolver on the PS4.
