Following its release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch last year and a leak earlier this year, Rockstar Games has finally announced that Red Dead Redemption and its DLC Undead Nightmare are coming to PC on October 29.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Red Dead Redemption picks up after the events of Red Dead Redemption II. John Marston is forced to hunt down the gang of criminals he once called friends when federal agents threaten his family in this critically acclaimed tale of Marston’s journey to bury his blood-stained past, one man at a time.
The DLC, Undead Nightmare, is a separate standalone story when former outlaw John Marston wakes up at his farmhouse, he finds a world gone insane: overnight, deranged hordes have overrun the towns and outposts of the American frontier. In a desperate attempt to save his family, Marston must traverse a world torn apart by chaos and disorder, using every skill he has to survive long enough to find a cure.
In collaboration with Double Eleven, the PC version of the game adds in PC-specific enhancements including native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality.
Red Dead Redemption on PC also supports NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more.
