After the tease and subsequent reveal of the long-awaited sequel to the incredibly popular wild west, RPG Red Dead Redemption Rockstar promised to release a trailer for a game on the 20th. Obviously, they made good on the reveal and now we finally have a look at the game.
As in any first trailer, not much is revealed. We don’t even know if John Marston, the protagonist of the first game, will be making an appearance. Odds are good he won’t as Marston met his end during the last game. After that happened players took control of his son for all of the post game messing around. It’s still unclear who exactly we will be playing as since the trailer mostly consisted of beautifully rendered shots of the environment and a general store. Near the tail end of the trailer, we were treated to a gruff sounding man telling us to know when to run away.
It’s possible that the game will be going for a whole Magnificent Seven vibe as the first image Rockstar released feature seven silhouettes. This visual theme continued at the end of the trailer when we see several people ride off into the plains.
Gameplay wise the game will be open world like its predecessor, but that has been known for a while now since reports of the map getting leaked made the rounds.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out in Fall of 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. While you eagerly await the game’s release you can read about another great western game, namely, Westworld. Well, it’s technically a TV show, but it’s like a video game and the creators said that the game inspired them.
