One of the most anticipated games, if not the most anticipated game, of 2017 is Red Dead Redemption 2. Last year, it was confirmed that the game will be coming out in Fall of 2017, but a more specific release date may just have been leaked.
According to an MSPoweruser article, UK-based online retailer called LittleWoods.com may have accidentally leaked the release date. Up until recently, the website listed the game’s release date as October 2, 2017. This coincides with Rockstar’s announcement that the game will have a Fall release date, but it is unclear if this was just a place-holder date or the actual release date. Either way, the site has now changed the release date for the game to December 29, 2017.
The first Red Dead Redemption came out in 2010 and was universally received very positively. The game went on to receive over one hundred Game of the Year awards for 2010. Rockstar has since developed games such as L.A. Noire and more entries in the Grand Theft Auto series.
Of course, Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny the rumored October 2 release date. It may be worth keeping in mind that October 2 could also be a tentative release date, one that they’re working towards but that they can push back if need be since it was never supposed to be leaked to the public. Fall in 2017 lasts from September 22 to December 20, so it’s even possible that the game doesn’t come out until mid-December and it could still technically be a Fall release. Fans have been waiting almost seven years for a sequel, but it looks like they’ll have to wait just a little bit longer before they get an official release date.
