A new game in the Far Cry franchise is seemingly headed for development. According to Portuguese gaming news site Geekinout, eight job listings were listed for Ubisoft studios in Canada, including Montreal, Sherbrooke, and Toronto.
These job openings included a Animation Technical Director, Team Lead Animator, Team Lead Game Design, Associate Producer, Art Team Lead, Programming Team Lead, Level Designer, and Technical Artist.
These job listings were set for a “Far Cry Project.” As for what type of Far Cry Project, the answer remains unknown. That said previous rumors surrounding the franchise suggest that this might dedicated Far Cry 7.
Far Cry 7 rumors were first brought to the video game community’s attention from Insider Gaming. According to the 2023 article, the hypothetical game would be a far departure from the franchise’s other installments by integrating an in-game timer, restricting the player towards to more linear way of going through the story’s campaign.
It’s a daring choice if proven to be true, due to the Far Cry franchise’s commitment towards open-world settings thanks to Ubisoft. Regardless, until Ubisoft confirms the answers to these new job listings, no one can be for certain.
Currently, it’s unknown when this Far Cry project will be released. If it is Far Cry 7, rumors alleged that its development could conclude sometime in 2025.
