Ready Or Not Gameplay Trailer Illustrates Realistic SWAT Combat

The tactical first-person shooter, Ready Or Not, has shown gamers an in-depth view into the gameplay with its new trailer. Void Interactive released the trailer yesterday and it also includes information about pre-order bonuses that will be added to standard and Supporter editions of the game. Check out the action-packed trailer, which shows off a bit of the story and the team-based combat that is still in development. It attempts to “blend first-person action and tactical strategy” for the most realistic iteration of what this type of combat requires.

Ready Or Not lets players fight as Judge, who is a SWAT Commander “tasked with defusing tense, hostile situations in a morally bankrupt city.” The setting will revolve around a struggling United States that has encountered enormous economic instability. While the game is heavily action-focused, Ready Or Not is planning on introducing a full cast of characters that will add to the overarching narrative and will make players care about how their actions affect those individuals. Cruel and corrupt criminal operations can be taken down as a solo player or with friends online.

In order to make the game as realistic as possible, Void Interactive has consulted with real police teams all over the world so that the combat and rules of engagement hold true to actual procedures in the field. Adding to the realism will be the ballistic penetration, Kevlar and plate dynamics, projectile momentum, and ricochet physics. Players will be able to command any NPCs on their team and will have to utilize the many approaches that range from using ladders, sniper teams, negotiators, ballistic shields, and door rams.

Ready Or Not is projected to release at some point during the fourth quarter of 2020 and is only confirmed to be coming to the Steam Store as of today. Players that pre-order the game will be have Beta access in June of 2020 and Support edition pre-orders will have the opportunity to play during the Alpha in August of this year while also receiving a 25% discount on the first expansion to the game.
