Rainbow Six Siege will already be seeing a new patch coming it’s way after the recent addition of new Operators from their last update. The patch will make some changes to stats and add a few new goodies for every operators arsenal.
Ubisoft announced the patch on their website calling it “Mid Season Reinforcements”.
Several changes to three Operators, new gadgets, new attachments, weapon balancing, and many bug fixes. You can expect these kinds of updates for future seasons as we try to implement changes we think will help improve the game, while incorporating feedback from the community. The Mid-Season Reinforcements arrive on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.
The first operator being adjusted is Twitch, “a good example of an Operator that is popular, has satisfactory pick and win ratios, yet her unique gadget, the Shock Drone, is quite underwhelming”. With the update, Twitch will now be able to deploy a Shock Drone while in the Preparation Phase instead of using the regular drone.
Once the match has started, Twitch will be given one shock drone in place of two regular drones. The shock drones also see a speed boost to match that of a regular drone. Here are the changes to the shock drone:
- It now moves 30% faster (this puts it on par with normal Drone speeds).
- It creates less sound when moving.
- The red light on the model has been removed.
- The range of the darts has been increased from 5m to 7m.
Blackbeard see’s some changes headed his way as well. Ubisoft found that players were using his shield too passively; equipping it at the beginning of the game only to forget about it. Ubisoft also noticed that with his high pick and win ratio that he is too powerful. In turn they decided to make the following changes:
- Blackbeard now has 2 shields, and can cycle through them with a queue system by equipping / un-equipping.
- The HP of the shields has been reduced, from 800HP to 150HP.
- The Shields’ durability is displayed on the UI.
Doc will see an upgrade to make him more useful to the team. He will now be able to heal teammates with his darts and even self heal. Players who he heals will receive a health boost up to 120 for a short duration as well, with each dart being worth 40hp.
In addition to the Operator tweaks, the update will bring new gadgets to play with. Some attackers will now have access to Claymores. Thatcher and Twitch will lose their stun grenades, Glaz loses breach charge, and Thermite loses stun grenade and breach charge.
Select Defenders on the other hand will gain access to impact grenades. “a grenade exploding on impact or after 1 second of throwing it. Perfect for close range firefights when things go south, and it can be used to open holes in the environment”. Caviar, Castle, Smoke, and Rook will all be given an impact grenade over their usual gadgets.
The update will also contain two new weapon attachments. The first being a muzzle break designed to offer reduced recoil on the first shot. The second is a heavy barrel allowing for less damage drop off at long range, the downside being increased recoil.
There will also be some weapon balancing to help keep the game as balanced as possible.
The Patch will be implemented on September 13th.
