The Rainbox Six franchise is one of wide notoriety. With the last release of Rainbox Six Siege, gamers have been eagerly awaiting the release of the next installment in the franchise. But as of today, Ubisoft has announced that Rainbox Six Extraction will be delayed into 2022.

We are delaying the release of Rainbow Six Extraction until January 2022.

In a tweet by the official Rainbox Six Twitter, it was announced that the game would be pushed back from September of this year to January 2022. Along with the tweet, Ubisoft also published a blog post further detailing the reasons for this delay. The post reads, “Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat.”
Ubisoft continues in the post, saying “We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play. We look forward to sharing more with you very soon!”
When we last saw Rainbox Six Extraction it was at Ubisoft Forward for E3 2021, where games like Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Far Cry 6, and more Ubisoft titles. While this delay does put a damper on fan’s hopes of playing the game sooner, a delayed game is better than an unfinished one. This should endure that the talented development team can deliver an experience that is truly the best it can be.
