Rage 2 Gets First Major Expansion Titled “Rise of the Ghosts”, Which Brings Back a Faction From the First Game

There was a lot of build up for Avalanche Studio and id Software’s Rage 2. Like, a whole lot. And from the hands-on for the game, it came off as lot of fun, and a whole new adventure for the Rage series. But when it came out, the reviews were mixed, and then the game just seemingly disappeared. No one really talked about it, no one really kept coming back to it. But Avalanche and id weren’t done as they had announced the new expansion for Rage 2 back during Bethesda’s E3 press briefing that had really only gone into how the expansion would bring in some more story, and some new weapons. And that the first expansion was titled Rise of the Ghosts:

For those who had played the first game, this would sound somewhat familiar as the Ghosts were an enemy faction introduced in the first Rage. Now, returning to the expansion, the Ghosts have taken on new identity, warped from the Authority Wars by a woman named Iris. the Ghosts are now infused with a compound known as Feltrite and are starting to crave human flesh. Like zombies, expect a lot more terrifying. Because now they’ve got the motivation and powers to try and take over a new area, where the expansion will mostly take place, Overgrown City.

A few new toys and tricks are being added in with Rise of the Ghosts. A new weapon known as the Felrite Laser Cannon, a new vehicle known as the Ghost Motorcycle, and a new power called Void. Void, allows you to grab and suspend an enemy in mid-air in a ragdoll style. Combining that with some of the other powers that the player has, there can be some serious combos.

Rage 2: Rise of the Ghosts will be available on September 26, 2019 for 1500 Rage coins, or about 15$ USD.
