This years R6 Invitational was one for the ages, and already fans are deeming it not only the greatest invitational ever, but one of the best E-Sports events and Finals in history. The finals occurred from the 22nd of February and concluded yesterday on the 25th with one of the greatest comebacks in E-Sports history. w7m E-Sports went on to defeat Faze clan in a match in which they were down 6 rounds to 1, with Faze Clan needing only one more round to win the entire tournament. Incredibly w7m went on to win 7 rounds in a row in order to close out the invitational and end up as the world champions marking off a perfect year and the beginning of a dynasty for the Brazil based team. The invitational finals brought in a peak of over 370,000 concurrent viewers. Rainbow Six Siege personalities being a major part of this years viewership Draw as Jynzxi and Gaules channels both had immense viewership numbers for the invitational. It should also be noted that the crowd in Sao Paulo was easily one of the most intense crowds ever, in a sold out event seeing over 9,000 fans in attendance.
I’ve been to many Siege events around the world and Brazil really is in a league of their own. My ears are still ringing from W7M’s win, but it’s worth it to be part of the greatest crowd I think I’ll ever see. 🇧🇷 pic.twitter.com/zTzZcNFEHr

The final match up between Faze and w7m as mentioned was incredibly moving as the comeback that w7m accomplished is enough to have even casual players in awe of what the team was able to accomplish. The final map was Nighthaven labs and w7m won 6 defensive rounds in a row and closed the tournament out with their final attacking round to win 7-6, winning best two out of three matches. This invitational has many fans excited for the future of Rainbow Six Siege, something that not many could say a couple years back when player count was dwindling matched up with constant updates by the developers that made no sense. Thankfully the developers seem to have their mojo back just in time for the beginning of their year 9 post launch content phase.

Speaking on w7m once more, this was their second consecutive time reaching the invitational finals, last year losing to G2 E-sports. Finally winning the invitational this year, its marks their 3rd major title in just under a year alongside the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, and BLAST R6 Major Atlanta. This is officially the beginning of a new dynasty in R6 E-sports.
