Question Games Revealed as Developer for New South Park Game

Question Games will develop a new South Park video game, which was revealed in a job posting on the game developer’s website. In August 2021, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker gained $900 million deal with ViacomCBS for 14 original South Park movies and a plan to extend the show through 2027. Additionally, a South Park 3D video game was included in Stone and Parker’s deal, which is currently in the works with no release date yet.

Since the video game announcement, many South Park fans speculated that the game would be developed by Ubisoft or Obsidian Entertainment since they both developed and published previous South Park games like South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole. However, it was recently revealed that the new installment to the South Park video game franchise, which started in 1997, will be developed by both Question Games and South Park Digital Studios.

Question Games, which also goes by Question, is small video game developer based in both California and Virginia. Question has previously developed and published two games of their own, The Magic Circle in 2015 and The Blackout Club in 2018. Recently, Question’s involvement in the new South Park game was revealed when the developer posted a job listing on their website that stated both Question and South Park Digital Studios were currently looking for a Lead Level Designer “for work on a new video game set in the world of South Park.” The job listing also revealed that the upcoming game will be made using Unreal Engine.

According to the job posting, the Question team consists of some developers who also previously worked on South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole, “Question is made up of ex-AAA developers whose past team credits include: Thief: Deadly Shadows, BioShock, BioShock Infinite, Dishonored, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and South Park: Fractured But Whole.”

Although not much information has been revealed yet, South Park fans can expect the game to be in good hands with Question Games.
