Ever wondered what it would be like to work during a zombie apocalypse in a job that can alter the course of survival for everyone but actually having to go through it? Well you’re in luck: Quarantine Zone: The Last Check will make its official debut on January 12th, 2026 on Steam. This will mark the release of the full game, filled with new content and added features, as the demo is currently available for play on Steam. Players have likely seen gameplay through YouTube Let’s Plays or through a twitch live stream, seeing the different tasks that the player has to complete in order to keep their checkpoint free of zombie infestation. On the official Steam page, it gives an overview of the major components that players will experience:
“SEE IT? SORT IT
Use high-tech tools to uncover signs of infection among the terrified survivors. Identify contraband, forbidden items, and even rare collectables as you work to keep your checkpoint secure. Send those with suspicious symptoms to quarantine for observation, to the lab for additional screening, or save healthy survivors by sending them to the living block. And those who show to be infected… well, they don’t stand a chance anyway.
COMMAND THE CATASTROPHE
As the survivor population swells, you’ll be relied upon to provide essentials such as power, food, and medicine. When the alarms are raised, pilot armed drones to ensure the infected don’t breach the compound. The better you manage your ever-expanding base, the more resources, tools, and weapon upgrades you’ll unlock.”
Alongside the upgraded features, players will experience first-hand how to combat an outbreak on the base and try to restore order before the outbreak overpowers the base. Players will also be able to unlock a science facility where the search for a cure will happen (at the expense of some survivors).
