Berlin based developer GameArt Studios released a promotional video for a new track from their upcoming racing game, Quantum Rush. Known as Ice Comet, the track features a number of tight turns, speed boosts, and loops constructed on top of a frozen comet hurdling through space.
GameArt Studios, founded in 2006, is an independent developer that specializes in the development of free to play online games. Their current popular titles include Holy War, a browser based role playing game set in the era of the Crusades in which the player can choose a class and level up by defending or conquering keeps as well as competing against other players, and Tagoria, a fantasy role playing game focused on exploration and equipping companion characters to fight monsters scattered about the world. The game also features a central hub town where players are able to interact with one another to trade, complete group quests, or duel. Players can arrange themselves into “hordes” in the central hub, which are then able to adventure out into the world at large as a group and play online.
Quantum Rush plans to break from the trend set by GameArt’s previous titles by venturing into the racing genre. The game currently plans to launch with two versions, an offline version entitled Quantum Rush: Champions, and an online multiplayer edition known simply as Quantum Rush Online. The two games will be functionally identical with the exception that purchasers of the online version will be able to compete with up to nineteen other players in races while Champions will feature an expanded solo campaign with purchasable upgrades to vehicles and boss races. Set in the distant future, Quantum Rush puts players in the driver’s seat of flying race cars capable of performing a variety of impossibly complex maneuvers at high speeds. Quantum Rush’s vehicles are also equipped with weapons, adding an element of combat to the game and ensuring that the evasive capabilities of its cars are put to good use.
Quantum Rush Online is currently in beta testing although no official launch date has yet been set. Quantum Rush: Champions is not planned to be available until the actual launch, so single player fans will have to wait before getting their hands on the additional campaign content in the offline version.
