PUBG Breaks Its Own Record With 3 Million Concurrent Users

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has broken its own previous record for most concurrent players. On the morning of December 29, the popular PC shooter logged in over 3 million players (3,106,358 to be exact.) The game, which was just released in March, has hit quite a few milestones since its launch, including becoming the most watched game on Twitch. However, the game didn’t hit 1 million concurrent players until September.

Now they have totally topped that number by a landslide. They are currently leading the list of top games by way of concurrent players with a total of 3,106,358. Dota 2, the current title in second place on the list only topped out at 1.29 million players at one time, a slightly impressive margin to say the least. The game’s introduction into China, as well as the release of the 1.0 version, has definitely given it a big boost. Even though the growth of the game has slowed quite a bit, there is no telling where the title’s number of players will finally come to its ceiling.

Another amazing feat the game has reached besides this record is that they currently have a total of 1.5 million players banned. This number has been confirmed by the game’s anti-cheating service, BattlEye. The development team assured players that they would do more to stop players from hacking last month, but apparently they will have to take even more action. Despite not knowing if PUBG will continue to break records or not, one thing is for certain: if they don’t find a solution for the hacking problem, their banned player numbers will surely rise.
