Prince of Persia: The Daggers of Time gets a new revamp as a VR escape room in more than 300 locations around the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. The co-op time-bending adventure is based on the classic Prince of Persia video game, created by Jordan Mechner. This game is also another title in Blue Byte’s interactive group-friendly VR games, which include Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Ubisoft has finally announced that they are releasing The Dagger of Time to fellow puzzle lovers and escape room enthusiasts. The Dagger of Time takes place in the Prince of Persia Trilogy (i.e., The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones), and involves two to four players who are summoned to the Fortress of Time by Kaileena (the Empress of Time). From there they must work together to stop an evil Magi from resurrecting a hoard of sand monsters.
To succeed, players must team up and find a way out by solving puzzles, using nearby objects, scaling landscapes, and using your given powers (which involve time control). Thankfully, the gameplay is said to have a simple control scheme so newcomers can focus all of their attention on playing the game.
At the same time, many fans of the game seem to be adamant about the release of this VR experience due to the fact that Prince of Persia has not seen a proper remake in ten years (but has, however, seen mobile game recently).
Ubisoft as a whole seems to be set on becoming more prominent in the VR space with a report from July of 2019 saying that they were working on collaborations involving the Splinter Cell and the Assassin’s Creed franchises.
Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time is set to open its locations in the spring of 2020.
