If you’re an avid gamer and an Amazon Prime member, then it’s a good time to be you. Amazon announced today that all Prime members will receive a 20 percent discount on pre-orders and newly released video games.
Amazon has taken a page out of Best Buy’s playbook with this program as it is very similar to the long running Gamers Club Unlocked program, which gives gamers discounts on games.
Along with the announcement of this new program comes its guidelines. The discount will apply to “new releases” for the first two weeks following the game’s launch. This deal is valid on physical copies of the game, but does not apply to package deals like console bundles. To get the ball rolling Amazon is already applying the deal to all existing Prime member pre-orders.
