CAPCOM’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise is the third title in the Monster Hunter Stories series. The RPG spin off is set in the Monster Hunter world and allows players to become Riders that can form bonds with monsters. In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the iconic aspects of the first two games are improved upon, leaving many thrilled for the pre-orders of the game available today.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is bringing several adaptations to the formula, while including all the core elements to still be familiar to fans of the previous games. The recent trailers show some of what players can expect from the game’s story. The new protagonist, who appears much older than previous main characters, is given full voice acting. Their story ties in a plot involving a woman they suspect to be their mother. She rides on one of two twin Rathalos, a creature thought to be extinct by the time of the game. The new main character will also be responsible for leading a group of fellow Riders called the Rangers, dedicated to protecting the dwindling monster population. Each member is given their own distinctive traits, detailed further in the introduction trailer released today.

In addition to story elements, the trailer also showed off the significant graphical improvements that this game boasts over the second installment. The anime art style is made to look more vibrant, with animations also being more fluid than ever. The game will also come with unique costumes for players with the first two games and Monster Hunters Rise.

The Monster Hunter series has been one of the largest growing in recent years. The trailers for the next game seem to indicate that the quality will only improve with the coming releases. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be released March 13th, 2026, with pre-orders available now.
