Attendees of this weekend’s IGN Live event in Los Angeles, CA got a first look at the new DLC coming to Powerwash Simulator later this year, with a new trailer and playable demo on the show floor. The new Alice’s Adventures Special Pack is a colorful and zany new expansion for the Square Enix game based on the world of Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Fans at IGN Live were given the chance to play the first level of the unreleased expansion, “White Rabbit’s House”, on Steam Deck while visiting the show floor.
Details on Alice’s Adventures are still scarce, but during my time with the demo I can tell you that fans of the game will feel right at home. “White Rabbit’s House” features a colorful, near-psychedelic new design, which initially is unable to be seen due to the grime which covers the small interior of the studio-sized home. The level was decorated with tons of curving, asymmetrical shelves, chairs, and furniture, giving the power-washing gameplay a fresh new perspective. Spiraling designs and ticking clocks cover every inch of the house (which are then covered in dirt), referencing the rabbit’s iconic obsession with time. While no new tools or nozzles were present in the preview, Square Enix has revealed that new skins for washers and characters will be included. Even though it was a short trip, it still felt great to be back in the soothing world of Powerwash Simulator, and the expansion feels unique thanks to it’s curved and winding shapes and brightly-colored textures. But, as the game’s first non-licensed expansion to feature a price tag, it has some big shoes to fill.
During yesterday’s IGN Expo, Square Enix revealed a trailer for the upcoming Alice’s Adventures expansion, slating a release for some time this summer. Multiple levels were featured in the trailer, showing off tall mushroom forests, disappearing cats, and more from the world of the iconic Lewis Carroll tale.
