On July 17th of this year, Bethesda posted an update about their future titles that will be coming in the future, with some pretty big names being confirmed to be coming. As of now, it seems like they were telling the truth about those upcoming titles, as yesterday on August 11th, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma made post on X, revealing that she was shown a live playthrough of the long awaited game The Elder Scrolls VI. Her post says the following about what she saw from the game:
Live playthrough of The Elder Scrolls VI: ******** this morning. The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even greater.
Bethesda made sure to reply to her post as well, thanking her for being able to watch the play through and the compliments to the game. From the sounds of it, The Elder Scrolls VI is looking to be coming along very nicely ever since Bethesda confirmed they were working on it. However, this information has led fans of The Elder Scrolls series into a spiral. Fans all across the internet are theorizing about a number of things, one of the most prominent being the censored subtitle.
Many fans are trying to wrap their heads around the subtitle and what it might be. All that these fans know at the moment is that said subtitle is most likely an eight letter word. That being said, the fans have been hard at work coming up with potential names, the most popular contender across platforms being “Sentinel.” Fans pulled the potential subtitle from an Easter Egg in Starfield, where a string of numbers in the character creator of the game actually spells the word out.
Thanks to Sharma’s post, many fans are becoming more excited than ever about the future of the The Elder Scrolls series. While many fans are questioning what the subtitle of The Elder Scrolls VI might be, a lot are also wondering when the next trailer for the game might be, since the last one all the way in 2018. With the update from Xbox’s CEO, some are considering if there might be a new trailer at the 2026 Game Awards, which seems like a very opportune time for Bethesda to show what they’ve been working on. That being said, these are all theories and possibilities, and all that the waiting fans can do is continue to ask questions and be patient.
