Possible Far Cry 6 Release Date Leaked

The Far Cry 6 release date has been leaked by the Microsoft Store. The online listing marks the game’s release as May 21, 2021. The news comes after Ubisoft announced delay in October for the new title. Ubisoft blamed the coronavirus pandemic on the delay, also pushing back titles like Rainbow Six Quarantine

Back in October, Ubisoft announced that both Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine would be delayed until sometime in early 2021. Far Cry 6 was originally slated for February 18, 2021. According to a Microsoft Store listing, the new date for the game is May 21, 2021. Although this date has not been confirmed by Ubisoft, the date does correspond with the company’s announcement of the delay. As of right now, the listing has the game priced at $59.99 and the version is only for Xbox One. The page also lists online co-op as a capability.

The next installment in the Far Cry franchise puts players in a tropical paradise called Yara. The game follows a revolution against Yara’s dictator, El Presidente. The villain of the story, played by resident-bad-guy Giancarlo Esposito, is training his 13-year-old son Diego to become the next leader of the country. Players will take on the role of Dani Rojas, a guerilla fighter trying to break down the establishment. Ubisoft also shared details on how the game will run on next-gen consoles. The game will be released to both generations and players will receive a free upgrade from current-gen consoles.

So far, the Microsoft Store has been right about release dates before; leaking debut times for titles like Star Wars: Squadrons, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, and Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The store posted all of these listings ahead of their official announcements and all three dates were accurate. However, the state of the world right now creates major flexibility in release dates (Cyberpunk 2077, I’m looking at you). So, players shouldn’t be surprised if Far Cry 6 debuts at a later date.
